GMO Internet Group Signs a Strategic Partnership Agreement with Anthropic
— Accelerating Toward Becoming a Hyperautomation Enterprise Group —
GMO Internet Group, Inc. (Representative: Founder, Chairman and Group CEO Masatoshi Kumagai; hereinafter "GMO Internet Group") has concluded a strategic partnership agreement with Anthropic PBC of the U.S. (hereinafter "Anthropic") on July 10, 2026.
Under this agreement, GMO Internet Group will advance AI utilization both within and beyond the Group: providing safe and secure AI-powered services broadly to society, and thoroughly leveraging Claude across the entire Group to become a hyperautomation enterprise group.
The agreement is built around the following four pillars:
1 Application of Anthropic's models to defend against cyber attacks
2 Application in the AI & Robotics business that contributes to advancing "Physical AI"
3 Strengthening AI utilization within GMO Internet Group
4 Joint initiatives such as events to promote AI utilization

【Main Details and Plans of the Partnership】
1. Application of Anthropic's models to defend against cyber attacks
Now, Anthropic's advanced AI services, we will rapidly apply them above all to our "cyber attack countermeasure services," accelerating the "GMO will Protect Your Internet Security" project.
As one example, "Takumi byGMO," provided by GMO Flatt Security—a service in which AI performs and equipped with the latest AI to deliver more advanced and faster security assessments.
2. Application in the AI & Robotics business that contributes to advancing "Physical AI"
GMO AI & Robotics Corporation, which drives the AI & Robotics business, implements Anthropic's latest advanced AI technologies in the physical domain to deliver new value to people's daily lives and industrial frontlines. By combining Anthropic's most advanced AI technology with the internet service infrastructure that GMO Internet Group has cultivated over 30 years, we will accelerate the evolution of "Physical AI" and contribute to solving social issues.
3. Group-wide use of Claude Enterprise and development of a secure AI foundation
We will promote the use of Claude Enterprise across the entire Group and build a secure AI utilization foundation that leverages enterprise-grade security features such as Zero Data Retention, multi-factor authentication (MFA), and IP restrictions. By advancing the use of Claude across a wide range of operations, including business areas that handle confidential information, we will accelerate our use of generative AI to become Japan's leading hyperautomation enterprise group.
4. Joint initiatives such as events to promote AI utilization
Leveraging the track record of GMO Internet Group's roughly 200 white-hat hackers—one of the largest such teams in Japan—events with Anthropic to promote AI utilization, such as hacking contests (CTF).
【The "Strategic Partnership Agreement" for the Second Half of the Internet Revolution】
■ Internet infrastructure cultivated over 30 years and initiatives toward AI utilization
Since launching its internet business in 1995, GMO Internet Group has upheld the philosophy of "Internet for Everyone," supporting Japan's internet infrastructure for 30 years across domains, server rental, internet connectivity, security, payments, and more. Today, the Group comprises 153 companies and approximately 8,300 partners (employees), and through 19.51 million internet infrastructure service contracts, provides services to a wide range of businesses and individuals.
■ The Challenge of Becoming the "No.1 Enterprise Group Creating the Future with AI & Robotics"
Our AI initiatives began with the hiring of data scientists in 2014, and the arrival of ChatGPT in 2022 triggered a rapid, Group-wide acceleration of AI utilization. Today, viewing AI and robotics as the protagonists of the second half of the internet revolution, we have set the goal of becoming the "No.1 Enterprise Group Creating the Future with AI & Robotics" and are advancing AI utilization among our partners.
In particular, the "GMO AI Boost Subsidy," established in May 2025 to remove budgetary barriers to AI utilization, made an average of 10,000 yen per partner per month available for paid plans. Furthermore, from January 2026 we launched a subsidy dedicated to Anthropic's Claude, the "GMO AI Boost Subsidy for Claude," and many partners are already using Claude, Claude Code, and more.
Claude, provided by Anthropic, is a generative AI with high safety and reliability—an AI that directly addresses the aforementioned challenge of building "a trusted foundation that lets companies confidently feed their internal data to AI." By concluding an Enterprise contract across the entire Group on this occasion, we will further accelerate the use of Claude.
【Comments from Both Companies】
■ GMO Internet Group, Inc. Founder, Chairman and Group CEO Masatoshi Kumagai
We are truly honored to have concluded a strategic partnership agreement with Anthropic PBC. Entering into an agreement with Anthropic, a global leader in the development of safe AI, fills us with both a renewed sense of responsibility and great expectations.
Since launching its internet business in 1995, GMO Internet Group has upheld "Internet for Everyone" and supported Japan's internet infrastructure for 30 years. On that 30-year foundation, we now renew our determination to build a foundation for AI utilization. The difference in AI capability is determined by whether one can feed AI with safe, large-scale, and highly accurate data. Claude, provided by Anthropic, combines high safety with outstanding reasoning performance, and is exactly the AI that meets this challenge head-on.
Taking this strategic partnership agreement as an opportunity, we will further enrich the services we deliver to customers—starting with internet infrastructure—by directly embedding AI, and to win the second half of the internet revolution, we will transform the power of our 8,300 partners into the strength of 83,000, further accelerating the hyperautomation of the Group.
