GMO Brand Security Inc. (President and CEO: Mitsuaki Nakagawa; hereinafter “GMO Brand Security”), a member of the GMO Internet Group, has agreed with Hakuhodo Inc. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director, President & CEO: Kenji Nagura; hereinafter “Hakuhodo”) to apply for “.hakuhodo”, a new gTLD featuring its corporate brand name (Brand TLD), under the "New gTLD Program: 2026" implemented by ICANN (Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers).

In recent years, as generative AI and search experiences evolve in the digital space, the authenticity of corporate information and the reliability of information sources have become more critical than ever. In light of these environmental changes, Hakuhodo will utilize its Brand TLD to establish a foundation as an "official information source" in the era of AI search.

GMO Brand Security will provide end-to-end support—from the application process to post-acquisition operations—to assist Hakuhodo in building a safe, highly reliable digital infrastructure through the use of “.hakuhodo”. The initiative aims to structurally prevent spoofing and impersonation by third parties by establishing clear, authentic digital touchpoints managed and operated by Hakuhodo. This will create an environment where consumers, business partners, and all stakeholders can access official information with confidence, while enhancing brand reliability and strengthening branding as a company driving advanced digital implementation.

GMO Brand Security and Hakuhodo will continue to promote efforts to enhance brand value and realize a safe and secure digital communication environment, striving to create new value that connects businesses and consumers.
