Former Lieutenant General Jiro Hiroe Appointed as Director and Executive Officer of Four GMO Internet Group Security Companies

GMO Internet Group (Group CEO: Masatoshi Kumagai) announces that at the extraordinary general meetings of shareholders of its four security-related companies (*1), Jiro Hiroe—former Lieutenant General and Head of “6” (*2) (GMO Internet Group’s Cyber Defense Business Promotion Office)—was elected as Director and Executive Officer. His formal appointment will be effective at a later date.
Through Mr. Hiroe’s appointment to these leadership positions, GMO Internet Group aims to counter the rapidly evolving threats of sophisticated cyberattacks, information manipulation, and brand infringement.
