GMO Brand Security Inc. is pleased to announce its collaboration with GMO GlobalSign Inc. to become the first VMC provider in Japan. Pre-orders for Verified Mark Certificates (VMC) will be accepted starting September 2024.

VMCs comply with the Brand Indicators for Message Identification (BIMI) standards, allowing verified emails to display brand logos. This feature helps companies visually demonstrate the authenticity of their emails, thereby enhancing protection against phishing and improving brand trustworthiness. In short, recipients can know the sender is legitimate even before opening an email, providing peace of mind. Currently, VMCs are compatible with services offered by major email providers such as Google and Apple.

GMO Brand Security Inc. will operate as an Intermediate Certificate Authority using GMO GlobalSign Inc. as the Root Certificate Authority and will also handle VMC sales. Pre-orders will begin in September, with more details to be announced upon finalization.
